Pumpkin Patch and Halloween

The bad thing about not updating your blog often is playing catch up! Not so fun. I don't know why life has felt so incredibly busy lately, but it has. Since this is our family journal, I know I will be sad if I don't take the time to post all of these pictures!!
I love October and all the fun things we get to enjoy! Jocelyn went to three pumpkin patches, two with me and one with her school. We had a fun Halloween weekend. We went to our church trunk or treat with our old ward so Jocelyn could see all of her friends that she misses so much! Then we went trick or treating with MiMi around our neighborhood. This is the first year we let Jocelyn actually carve a pumpkin and she loved it! She even took out (most of) the pumpkin "guts" by herself. We did hear "DISGUSTING!" the whole time she did it! She carved a cute owl and did a great job, with just a little help from Graham and I with the harder parts.

I carved the one on the left and Jocelyn did the one on the right. We always look forward to Daddy's cool pumpkin, but unfortunately he carved out parts of Darth Vader that messed it up. Next year we'll expect something fabulous! :)

Jocelyn wanted to be a ladybug this year and found this cute outfit on sale! Her baby cousin was a ladybug too. We're just sad they live in Utah and we couldn't get pictures of them together!

Fall in the Jemez

Is blogger giving anyone else TROUBLE?!?! I am getting so frustrated with it, so I have been blogging a lot less lately! Uh! Anyway, we went up to the Jemez to take some pictures of the beautiful color. We miss Virginia so much during the fall. It was GORGEOUS! Red, orange, yellow.....ohhh, we miss it! New Mexico is pretty, but you don't get ALL those colors. It's okay, though, being near family is definitely worth the trade! We had a good time up in the mountains, just like we always do!

This is where Graham's family had their cabin. Unfortunately, they sold it. Graham thinks the new owners tore down the old cabin and replaced it. We're sad that it isn't in the family anymore, it's such a pretty spot!!

I LOVE this picture!

We saw this cute old cabin and they had a horse, so of course, Jocelyn wanted to go pet him. He came right up to her. So friendly!

We walked up to the beaver pond to take some pictures. It was really pretty, but I almost fell in!

What a beautiful reminder.

Uncles are the best!

Uncle John and Jocelyn in Texas at our Dad's wedding. Jocelyn ADORES Uncle John. Sometimes she gets pretty jealous when his attention is elsewhere. She went up to him while he was playing with Ashlee's boys and said, "Uncle John, you don't even love me anymore!" Ohhh, girls! Such drama.

(Why yes...those are bandages on Jocelyn's head! Guess what she did the NIGHT BEFORE the wedding...well, we still aren't sure, but she had a HUGE red gash on her head. And she was in the wedding. Nice.)

When Graham and Jocelyn are left alone....

Poor Zap gets dressed up! I don't know if our boy cat enjoyed this too much. I haven't heard Jocelyn laugh that hard in a long time though! I would have been mad at them, but I couldn't help but laugh! It was hilarious, especially because Zap looked so depressed.

I can't decide if Boomer was laughing at Zap or felt bad for him. He's probably thinking, "Glad it's you and not me!!"

Texas!!!!

Here are my best friend's two little boys and Jocelyn last time we had pictures of them taken...

Here is the group now! She added another adorable boy and everyone else has grown so much!! Ashlee took this picture. She is an awesome photographer and hopefully I can learn a few things from her!

Jocelyn and I headed to Texas to see Ashlee and her boys and then head to Oklahoma to go to my Dad's wedding. We had a BLAST! I'm so glad they live close to us, even if it is only for a year.
Unfortunately, I did not get my camera out ONCE the whole trip! I guess that's what happens when you know your best friend will take better pictures anyway...what's the point? hahaha! So I am stealing pictures from her blog as they appear! Thanks, Ash.

Awww!!!

I love finding videos of Jocelyn when she was little that I haven't seen in forever. I could listen to that sweet voice all day. Adorable!

She wasn't two yet in this video and she was talking tons! Some of the words I can still understand in the video are: red, gray, white, pet, bees, baa, chicken, doggy, snake, duck, frog, fox, hoo hoo (owl), babies, lion, elephant, camel, the end, pets, dog, cats, all done, stuck, CHEESE, zebras, cows, babies say cheese.

Oh, and I need to get another OU Sooners shirt that she can wear now! BOOMER SOONER!

2nd Day!

I dropped Jocelyn off at school this morning for her 2nd day of kindergarten. She didn't have school yesterday so we went to a little party with some of her friends at Chuck E Cheese to celebrate being big school kids! Today was harder for me to leave her knowing it's a long day and I can't pick her up until almost four o'clock! UGH! She was still excited for school, but said she was sad to leave me. Sweet girl. I am looking forward to spending time with her and Graham this weekend!

Kindergarten....ALREADY?!?!?!

I can't believe the day is here! I am actually holding it together this morning, which is a miracle! I got teary eyed watching her sit on the rug with all her classmates, but I consider that to be pretty good considering I thought I'd be a mess! I'm so proud of our little bug. She was SO brave this morning and didn't cry or whine for us to stay. I could tell she was nervous, but she did so great! I'm so excited to go pick her up in a couple hours and see how her day went! Here are a few pictures from this morning.

What Matters Most

Jocelyn is going to school in TWO SHORT WEEKS...my heart just might break. I can't believe that our time together at home is coming to end. This will be the most she has ever been away from me. Although she is definitely ready for school (and excited for it, most of the time), I am truly going to miss having her around. I'm excited for her new adventures and can't wait to see how much she learns and grows over the next year, but I feel like my baby is REALLY not a baby anymore...

I LOVE this video with President Monson. It means even more to me RIGHT NOW
