Say what?!?!

"Grandpa, if you don't marry Michelle, you can marry me. But you guys already have it planned, so go ahead."

My Mom, Jocelyn and I were out together the other day. Mom asked Jocelyn where we should eat and Jocelyn said, "Somewhere fancy...how about Black Olive Garden?" (Where she always asks for a bowl of black olives!) At the end of the meal, they brought us the little mints and she asked me what the writing said. I told her Andes and she said, "This is Andes Black Olive Garden? How cool!"

While we were at the Olive Garden, she asked me to take her to the bathroom. Once we were in there, she said "Nevermind. I don't have to go anymore. My poop changed it's mind." I said, "Jocelyn just go. Poop doesn't have it's own mind." She replied, "Well MINE DOES. Obviously YOURS just doesn't, Mom."

Today, we picked up Jocelyn's friend, Bryson, so he could come play. When he got in the car, this was the conversation...
Bry: "Jocelyn, I'm not going to marry you anymore. I'm going to marry Lexi."
Me: "Oh, Bryson! That makes me so sad! How come?"
Bry: "Well she is too shy to marry me, so I'll just marry Lexi."
Me: "What if Jocelyn changes her mind?"
Bry: "Then I would change my mind too!!"
Joc: "OK! When I'm 12, I'll change my mind and we'll start planning our wedding."
Bry: Giggling..."Then we should practice kissing! Let's build a stage and pretend we're in front of lots of people."

Last week, Graham, Jocelyn and I went to the mall. Jocelyn looked especially cute in this yellow page boy hat. She was getting tons of compliments on how cute she looked. After awhile, she said..."That's number 7!!" She was keeping track! Funny girl. I'm not worried about her self esteem, but maybe about her humility!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Early this morning,

Jocelyn: "Are we going to MiMi's for the season?"

Me: "You mean for the holiday?"

Jocelyn: "Oh yeah, for the holiday!"

Graham: "It's technically not a holiday..."

Jocelyn: "YES IT IS! It's MOTHER'S DAY!"

Graham: "It's a Hallmark holiday."

Jocelyn: "UGH! Mom DOES NOT have to do her HOMEWORK for Mother's Day!"

I love my family so much. They keep me entertained. Although it's a "Hallmark" holiday, Jocelyn and Graham were very sweet to me and made me a fabulous breakfast and gave me home made cards and fudge. Happy Mother's Day to my Mom and all the other wonderful Mother's in our lives! Love you all very much.

"My New Life" - NieNie

I know I just shared a video, but this one is truly inspirational and beautiful and I had to share it. I have been reading Stephanie Nielson's blog for awhile now and I am constantly inspired and in awe of her. I love her message on motherhood and beauty. Happy Mother's Day to you all.

(A More Real) Love Story

I needed a break from preparing my lesson for Sunday, so I thought I'd share this great video with you. Anita Renfroe is hilarious. The first video I saw of her was the "Momisms" one. Loved it. This one is a parody of "Love Song" from Taylor Swift. So it's even funnier if you have seen that music video. ENJOY!

Dion's Field Trip

Our preschool group took a field trip last week to Dion's. The kids had a blast and we had a great tour guide, Mr. Spike. He was hilarious and kept the kids entertained!

The kiddos coloring their Dion's book before the tour began.

Listening ears? Check! Ready to go in the kitchen!

Mr. Spike showing the kids where the soda is.

Mixing the dough.

Getting ready to go into the fridge...
BRRRRRR!!!

Salad prep area. Did you know the salad bowls can talk? Me neither. The kids thought it was so funny!

Helping make their pizza.

Time to eat!

Their hard work paid off. Yummy!

Easter 2010

We had a really great Easter this year. We started the morning at our house with an easter egg hunt and breakfast and then headed to Edgewood for dinner.

Boomer wonders where his treats are!

Jocelyn's learning to drive already.

Dinner at MiMi and Grandpa's in Edgewood. Loving their new fireplace mantel!

Jocelyn's favorite little buddies at MiMi's house.

Sassy, MiMi's cat.

Boomer found a spot to hide from Jocelyn while we were unpacking.

We finally made room in the third space in the garage for the air hockey table.

Comedian

Jocelyn continues to crack us up, but gets embarrassed if we laugh. Grandpa and I told her she needs to be a comedian but she said, "that's not my responsibility". HA!

Exciting news! New Mexico has BLUE BELL ICE CREAM now!!! Woohoo! If you haven't had some and don't know how exciting it is, rush out to Albertson's and get some...preferably cookies and cream. Graham thinks I'm crazy, but really, it is the best. Not to mention, childhood memories.

Anyway, we got some Blue Bell ice cream this weekend and Jocelyn called Grandpa to tell him(since I made a big deal about it). She said, "I'm having chocolate chip blueberry ice cream...I mean blue...WHAT is it?...I don't know, it's FRENCH or something!"

At the end of the week after preschool, usually the play room LOOKS clean, but everything is unorganized and not in the right place. (I love my preschoolers and they do try to clean up!) So last week I was re-organizing the play room and probably not in the best mood...mostly b/c Jocelyn does know where things go and it was still a mess. Anyway, after I was done I needed to run an errand. I heard Graham and Jocelyn talking in the hall.

Graham: "Jocelyn, do you want to go with Mommy or stay here?"

Jocelyn: "WELL...are you in a better mood than Mommy?"

I really wish I could have recorded it. It made me laugh so hard and put me in a better mood, so Jocelyn ended up going on my errand with me. She said it so sweetly and was honestly curious which one of us was in a better mood. Hilarious.

Oh, one more thing. Have you ever been on google earth? You can put an address in and see a picture of the house. When we moved into our new house, Grandpa in Plano was looking up our address and then convinced Jocelyn that if she stood outside and waved he could see her. Of course, she believed him. So then he had her go outside and jump up and down so he could see her...."Do you see me now, Grandpa?" Ohhhh, sweet girl. I know Grandpa will be in BIG trouble when you figure out he's just teasing you!

A few pics from her lesson this weekend
Feeding Hope a "cookie" after the lesson.
Can you see Hope's tongue sticking out?!?

The mama goat finally had her babies a few weeks ago. She had four, but unfortunately one didn't make it. They are so cute and have grown a ton already.
